On Hiatus
As you may have already noticed, I've been on unofficial hiatus since the end of last year. I didn't really mean to take a break, I just kind of ... never ... posted. By mid-January, I was thinking about actively choosing to stop posting for awhile, instead of passively letting it happen, and feeling guilty about it.
A main goal for this blog is for me to write regularly, and hold myself accountable. It works very well in that respect, and I'm more motivated to write because I enjoy getting comments and knowing that people are reading it. However, when I spend time writing and editing posts for the blog, I'm not working on any of my other writing projects that might, someday, actually get published and get me paid!
So I've decided to stop blogging through the end of February. I have a short novella that's all outlined, half-written, that's been sitting around for several years. I'd like to finish writing it, edit it, and send it off for possible publication. Will it actually get published? Well, I have no control over that. But if I can finish it, clean it up, and send it on, I would be very happy with that effort.
By choosing to not blog in order to get this done, that is definitely motivation to make the most of the time I have right now, to commit myself to one project and see it through. I might pop by the blog from time to time for a brief update, but I won't start writing regularly again until March. This means that, to meet my minimum annual posting goal of 120 posts, I'll need to write about 12 posts/month from March through December. So you have a brief respite from me now, but I will (hopefully) be a posting machine from March onward!
Enjoy some happy, chilly months.

Uhm, yeah -- That's why I haven't posted on my blog since before Christmas: I'm writing a novella!
Nah, I'm just lazy. :)
Anyhow, good luck with your other writing project!
I'm trying to get back into "proper" blogging, after noodling around with Tumblr for a few months.
Finding time is my continual problem...
Amy: That's right, you haven't been posting. Get back on it!;) Thanks for the good wishes.
Jonathan: Welcome back to Blogger!I enjoy reading your blog posts, but would gladly forgo them for awhile if it meant you were working on something longer. Just saying :)
