Lost! Reward!

What: cell phone, circa 1996
When: Last Saturday
How: I remember setting it down ...
If found, please call: Someone other than me, as I seem to be missing my cell phone.

Mostly I'm just trying to say, if you've called me and I haven't called you back: It's not you. It's me. You're still a great person.

p.s. The reward is ... a well-worn copy of Don Quixote, looking suspiciously as if it's been kicked and stomped upon. Not available for two more weeks, though.

losing a cell phone is like losing a finger. it's very personal. sorry to hear about your loss.

Update: I got my cell phone back on Friday--it had been under the seat in my mom's car. When I plugged it in: no messages! Obviously you all know I don't ever use my cell phone.

So perhaps if one were to compare losing a cell phone to losing an appendage, for me it would be the equivalent of tonsils, or appendix, or another equally unused body part.

So does your mom get another copy of DQ now? Poor mom.

Ha! I hadn't even thought about that. I don't know if I could really inflict that upon her ... especially since she's already bought two copies, since she didn't like the first translation.

And since we're talking about it, I thought you might like to know that I have less than 100 pages to go. Very exciting!!
